The Aspire skills show experience this Friday in Isleworth is almost here, and with hundreds of vacancies and the chance of walking out with a job on the day, why not come along?
Companies already signed up now include Sky, Heathrow, International SOS, Compass Group and Virgin Media along with many more. With companies recruiting on the spot last year, including Felicity J Lord Estate Agents, who managed to find a new employee for their new Chiswick office, and Avon Cosmetics, who recruited 18 new representatives – there will be real opportunities for local people to advance their careers.
Confirmed also are experts from the National Careers Service and Barclays, who will run CV and Interview Technique coaching on the day.
Local MP Mary Macleod, supporting the Jobs Fair event for the third consecutive year, said:
“I am really excited about this year’s event. Unemployment is very low in Brentford and Isleworth, but there are still around 1,800 local people on Jobseeker’s Allowance. My aim is to get these people earning or learning – and what better way to do that than at this year’s Jobs Fair – where you will be able to walk out of the College with a job offer.”
The biggest change at this year’s event will be the new ‘Have a Go’ activities, during which attendees will be able to experience what it is like to work for companies such as Premier Inn, Mace Construction and Brompton Bikes. Activities range from concreting and building a working telephone circuit - to panini making and constructing a bicycle.
