Local MP: “Mary Escalates Turnham Green Trial To mayor of London”
Local MP Mary Macleod has written to the Managing Director of Transport for London, Mike Brown, to ask him to stop Piccadilly line trains at Turnham Green whilst Gloucester Road station is closed.
Upon receiving a reply from Mike Brown, he stated in his letter that there are “No plans” for the Piccadilly line to stop at Turnham green before the line is modernised and they have new trains.
Mary will now be escalating the trial to the mayor of London, Boris Johnson. The mayor of London has already agreed to stop Piccadilly line trains at Turnham green throughout the day. This will happen as soon as the Piccadilly line upgrade is completed.
Piccadilly line trains currently stop at Turnham Green from 10.30pm to 6.50am.
Nigel Holness, operations director for the Piccadilly line has discussed the introduction of a “more frequent service” for Piccadilly line customers on weekday evenings and Saturdays.
