Local MP urges young people to take part in Enterprise Awards
Mary Macleod MP has urged local young people to take part in the 2014 Enterprise Awards launched by Lloyds Bank to recognise and celebrate the top businesses of tomorrow.
Mary said:
‘These awards are a brilliant opportunity for young entrepreneurs to showcase their achievements and to be rewarded for them. The prizes on offer are substantial and could make a real difference to the winning businesses. I would really encourage young entrepreneurs in Chiswick, Brentford, Isleworth, Osterley and Hounslow to apply.’
This is the third time that Lloyds have run the awards which are open to entrepreneurs currently at university or who have graduated within the last 5 years with a business that has been trading for at least a year. The Awards are intended to both reward young entrepreneurs for their efforts and promote the idea of starting your own business, which over 2 in 5 of students and graduates would rather do than apply for a ‘normal job’.
Mary continued:
‘It is vital that the next generation, boys and girls, consider starting their own business as a career choice. The Government’s flagship start-up loans have invested in over 25,000 young people, whose businesses are vital in supporting our economy.’
