The Conservative’s five year plan for Britain was announced yesterday with the release of the 2015 Conservative Party Manifesto and a pledge to keep creating 1,000 jobs every day.
Amongst the headline announcements are a new Right to Buy for housing association tenants, a new law to guarantee a Tax Free Minimum Wage and a doubling of the free hours of childcare for working parents.
Local Conservative Candidate Mary Macleod has welcomed the bold manifesto, designed to offer working people security at every stage of their lives. She singled out Labour’s manifesto as a ‘black hole’, referring to a video of Labour Candidate Ruth Cadbury in which she was unable to remember any Labour policies whatsoever.
Mary said:
“Our manifesto shows that the Conservative Party is on your side by laying out a plan for a brighter future. An extra £8 billion for the NHS, three million more apprenticeships and cutting taxes for hardworking people – this is our plan. This contrast with Labour could not be clearer. Even their local candidate knows that Ed Miliband is devoid of ideas with no plan to help families across the country. Their manifesto is a black hole, not a prospectus for Government. It’s a recipe for chaos.
If Ruth Cadbury can’t list a single way she would like to improve the country, it makes you wonder why she wants to be an MP at all”
A second hustings event will be held tonight at St Pauls Church in Brentford, in partnership with Brentford Chamber of Commerce and Brentford Community Council. You can find out more here.
