Mary Macleod MP, Member of Parliament for Brentford and Isleworth invited Angie Bray MP, Member of Parliament for Ealing Central and Action to meet Boris Johnson’s Transport Advisor, Kulveer Ranger to discuss local residents’ demands for more Piccadilly Line trains to stop at Turnham Green tube station.
Transport for London (Tfl) have consistently maintained that, given the need to run trains as quickly as possible between Heathrow and Central London, it would not be possible for the Piccadilly Line to stop at Turnham Green station during peak hours.
Mr Ranger presented analysis prepared by Tfl to look in detail at the concerns of local users of the Piccadilly Line and to assess whether a business case exists for making changes. A copy of this report can be obtained by calling Mary’s office in Westminster on 020 7219 7023.
Mary said: “I am disappointed that there seems to be no way to stop the Piccadilly Line more often at Turnham Green without impacting significantly on the whole line. However, I will continue to raise this issue and work with Tfl to ensure that as improvements to tube stations, trains and signalling are made, this matter is given top priority”.
During the meeting, Tfl committed to review again the possibility of stopping Piccadilly Line trains at Turnham Green more often at the weekends and Mr Ranger agreed to report back to Mary Macleod MP and Angie Bray MP on this.
