Mary Macleod MP welcomed Whizz-Kidz, the leading provider of mobility equipment for young people, to Westminster recently.
Mary said: “Finding the right powered wheelchair for children and young people is so important. It gives them independence and enables them to do basic things for themselves, like get themselves a drink, take part in school lessons and keep up with their friends during play time – things most of us take for granted.”
Whizz-Kidz is a national charity and leading provider of mobility equipment, including powered and lightweight wheelchairs; skills training and advice and support for disabled children, young people and their families. Whizz-Kidz has provided children in our area with mobility equipment, including powered chairs, a specialised sports chair and trikes. But they estimate that there are many other children that could benefit from the sort of customised mobility equipment and training that they can provide.
Mary said: “Whizz-Kidz do a great job in providing mobility equipment and I am very happy to support their campaign for a review of wheelchair services in London and for their aim to ensure that every disabled child has an opportunity to be something special….a kid.”
