The Prime Minister’s wife, Samantha Cameron, came to Hounslow this week to support Mary Macleod’s campaign in what is the most important election in a generation.
The couple chatted while they delivered leaflets in Ellerdine Road and called in for tea with local businessman Baljinder Hansra and his family.
Samantha then accompanied Mary to knock on doors and chat to residents about the upcoming election. She hasn’t been out on the campaign trail much so far this election but was a natural at canvassing and local residents were delighted to chat to her on the doorstep.
Before she left, Samantha Cameron said:
“Mary, you are amazing and I know you have worked so hard. I really hope you are re-elected on 7th May and I wish you all the very best of luck.”
Mary commented:
"I was delighted that Samantha Cameron came out to join me campaigning today. It certainly took some people by surprise to have the Prime Minister’s wife knocking at their door!
“Every vote counts in this election and having Samantha here today shows just how important this constituency is. Local people will be vital in determining the most important election in a generation. What I am saying to residents is stick with me and the Conservatives under David Cameron’s strong leadership. We will follow through our economic plan to create a better, more secure future for Brentford and Isleworth.”
